Our Polyurethane Hoses

We carry two great food-grade polyurethane soaker hose: the GAMMA™-FLEX UHMW chemical hose and the ELIXIR™ food transfer hose. Both are great alternatives to your common garden hoses.

Chemical Hose

For our UHMW chemical hose, we use Texcel’s GAMMA. UHMWPE stands for Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) and provides the hose’s odorless and durable qualities. Texcel also designed it for 98% of chemicals, solvents, and corrosive liquids with suction and pressure services. It uses a blue EPDM, flex corrugated cover, and is reinforced with high0tensile tire cord plies and helix wire. Rated at a 4:1 safety factor, use it intermittently at temperatures ranging from -4°F to 250°F.

The GAMMA hoses can come with both suction and discharge nozzles and fittings. Also, the GAMMA chemical hose comes in 1’’, 1.5’’, and 2’’ sizes and 5, 10, 15, 25, 50, 75, and 100-foot lengths.

Food Transfer Hose

Texcel Series ELIXIR Transfer Hose

The ELIXIR Hoses‘ tubbing is of a clear Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW). Its cover is a green Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer Rubber (EPDM). It uses high-strength synthetic plies with steel wire spirals for reinforcement. The GAMMA is rated with a 3:1 safety factor and for use with -40°F to 230°F. Also, Texcel’s ELIXIR is, of course, lead-free, FDA, and USDA compliant, up to date with all food-safety measures. This tubing provides exceptional flexibility and range of use.

Texcel designed the ELIXIR specifically to transport alcohol up to 96%, potable water, and other foodstuffs. The UHMWPE material ensures food-quality. The odorless hose means it will not alter the taste of your product. They come in 1’’, 1.5’’, and 2’’ sizes and 5, 10, 15, 25, 50, 75, and 100-foot lengths. Always thoroughly flush food-grade hoses before the initial use. And because we design it to work at high temperatures, sterilize it at 230°F for 30 minutes.

Beer Hose

The GROWLER™ is our Brewery Hose. Texcel specifically designed it for the suction of beer. In addition, it works for wine, alcohol, and soft drinks. It uses a white, BIIR (Bromobutyl rubber) tubing and an orange EPDM cover. This odorless material prevents altering the taste of any of your food or drink products. Its reinforcement consists of high-strength synthetic plies with steel wire spirals.

Our beer hose is rated a safety factor of 3:1, for temperatures of -40°F to 248°F, and pressures up to 150PSI (10 BAR). It Is BfR, ADI free, and meets all FDA and USDA regulations. Always flush it thoroughly before initial use and sterilize it between uses with 230°F steam for 30 minutes. The GROWLER comes in 1’’, 1.5’’, and 2’’ sizes and 5, 10, 15, 25, 50, 75, and 100-foot lengths, with brass fittings and without.

Wine Hose

BALTHAZAR HD Winery Hose

We call our wine hose the BALTHAZAR™. Texcel made it for wineries, perfect for the suction and delivery of wine, fruit juice, and soft drinks. Also, the hose is of a white EPDM for odorless, non-taste altering material to ensure food-quality. Its cover is a gray and purple EPDM, reinforced with high-strength synthetic plies in the form of steel wire spirals.

It has a safety factor of 3:1 and rated for -40°F to 248°F. You can use it for pressures up to 150PSI or 10BAR. Always flush food-grade polyurethane soaker hose before the initial use and sterilize it between uses with steam at 230°F for 30 minutes. The hose is FDA and USDA compliant with all food regulations. The BALTHAZAR comes in many sizes: 1’’, 1/5’’, 2’’, 3’’, and 4’’, all in the same lengths as our other hoses.

CedarStone Industry also carries a hose called the BALTHAZAR HD™. It is a Heavy-Duty version of a winery hose. The BALTHAZAR HD can be used in the same ways as the regular version, but it will withstand as much abuse as you will find in a winery. Its tubing is of a white NBR rubber. Besides, its cover is a crush-proof, purple, corrugated EPDM with a second UHMWPE cover.
